Did you know: Nat’l Newborn Screening Week

By virtue of Proclamation No. 540 signed on Jan. 20, 2004, by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the first week of October was declared National Newborn Screening Week. The Department of Health and the Institute of Human Genetics under the UP National Institutes of Health commemorate the event mainly through public information campaigns.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
