The Liberal Party (LP) National Executive Council on Wednesday morning will meet to decide on its slate for the 2016 elections.
The ruling party’s members have started to arrive by 8 a.m. at the LP headquarters in Cubao, Quezon City.
President Benigno Aquino III will preside over the meeting, which will determine the rest of the party slate.

Former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II has already been endorsed by Aquino as LP’s presidential bet.
The party has yet to decide on its candidate for vice president, although Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo is being considered.

Pampanga 3rd District Representative Oscar Rodriguez, who came early to the event, said Robredo is “very capable.” He said she is “one of the best” legislators he has worked with.
He said Robredo may feel the pressure because it has become “a question of family or nation” but that she can still strike a balance if she decides to run under LP. Kristine Angeli Sabillo, INQUIRER.net/CDG
