EDMONTON, Alberta— A 6-year-old girl with cancer is making headlines in Canada by living her superhero dream for a day as SpiderMable thanks to a children’s charity.

When Mable Tooke had a chance to choose anything from The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, she asked to spend a day swinging around Edmonton, Alberta, with her favorite superhero Spider-Man who like her has radioactive blood.

Mable woke up Monday morning to watch a spoof TV newscast in which police called on SpiderMable to help save the city and rescue kidnapped Edmonton Oilers hockey captain Andrew Ference. Several police officers, Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson and a costumed Spider-Man helped SpiderMable enjoy what she called a “pretty cool” experience.

A similar event organized in 2013 in San Francisco for Batkid, 5-year-old leukemia patient Miles Scott, touched hearts around the world.
