Presidential run or VP run? Marcos will make a decision ‘very soon’
IS Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. aiming for the Coconut Palace or the Malacañang Palace?
Asked to pick between the two, Marcos said he is studying both possibilities of running for president or vice president.
“No preference yet but let’s just say I am studying both options,” he said at the sidelines of the National Unity Party (NUP) convention in Sofitel, Pasay City.
Marcos on Monday spoke before some 500 NUP members, the third largest political party, to ask for their support in the elections without revealing what position he would aim for.

“I just don’t want to preempt our discussion with other groups, especially in our party Nacionalista Party. But finishing touches na on our plans sa involvement namin sa 2016,” he told reporters.
“Para pulido at maayos, tinatapos muna namin… Within next week, we’ll be able to announce,” he added.
But Marcos said his talks with possible running mates Binay and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who are both being considered as contenders for presidency, are ongoing.
In talking with political parties and prospective partners in the 2016 elections, he said they discuss a combination of many things, including their voter preference strength in some provinces.
“We talk about the actual campaign, the merging of groups, the platforms, the relationship between different candidates. We have to be realistic and look at the political situation in every part of the country. Titingnan mo rin saan ka malakas at mahina, kung paano magtutulungan,” he explained.
When prodded by media to choose between Binay and Duterte, he said: “We’ll see.”
“If Mayor Digong (Duterte) will run, of course the political landscape will change if he joins the race so that’s going to be part of the assessment,” he added. Julliane Love de Jesus
