Binay happy with rating despite slide
Despite the recent surveys showing he has been consistently overtaken by Sen. Grace Poe, Vice President Jejomar Binay said he remained thankful that his rating has stayed steady owing to his core of supporters.
“I would like to thank the people who have not changed their views when they were asked about my candidacy,” Binay said on the sidelines of the 22nd National PR Congress at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati yesterday.
Binay, along with his rivals Poe and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, were invited to speak before public relations practitioners during the annual conference in Makati.
But only Binay showed up yesterday as both Roxas and Poe begged off, Malou Tiquia, one of the organizers, told reporters.
Organizers were told the event was in conflict with Roxas’ schedule. Poe, on the other hand, told the event organizers, “Next time.”
All three were supposed to be asked about their candidacies and platform of governance in the conference, which was off-limits to the media.
