MANILA, Philippines—Fugitive brothers Joel and Mario Reyes arrived in the Philippines from Bangkok, Thailand, past 3 a.m. Friday, escorted by Philippine policemen, who had fetched them in the Thai capital.
Joel, a former Palawan governor, and Mario, a former mayor of Coron town in Palawan, are suspects in the murder of broadcaster Gerry Ortega.
They were earlier arrested Sunday in the resort island of Phuket in southern Thailand for violations of that country’s immigration laws.
