ABS-CBN C. Visayas raises P1M in cash, relief goods

ABOUT P1,328,973.00 in cash and P976,750 worth of goods that consist of rice, canned goods, noodles, clothing and kitchen utensils were raised in a two-day donation campaign by ABS-CBN for the flood victims of Luzon.

The Kapamilya Relief Campaign in Fuente Osmeña, Cebu City, drew donations from elderly citizens to motorists who handed cash and supplies for the victims of typhoons Pedring and Quiel.

“We’ve always know the generosity of the Cebuano but we have underestimated their capacity to help. Cebuanos are alwaus willing to help,” said dyAB station manager and TV Patrol Central Visayas anchor Leo Lastimosa.

He said they received donations from Lapu-Lapu City to as far as Danao City and Dalaguete town.

The Cebu City Council gave an undisclosed amount and assorted materials to the relief campaign.  Correspondent Edison delos Angeles
