A group of bloggers urged Filipino netizens on Wednesday to be vigilant during the upcoming elections by sharing their report through the cyberspace.
Blog Watch, in partnership with The Philippine Online Chronicles (POC), launched during a media forum at Commune Cafe in Makati City its presidential election coverage in which netizens could participate in ensuring a peaceful and orderly election in May 2016.
Netizens can use the hashtag #juanvote on micro-blogging site Twitter to report any election-related issues, including electoral fraud or violence and other prohibited acts during election day.
The grandstanding and self-promoting acts of some public officials can also be reported by using the hashtag #epalwatch.
Members of Blog Watch will also use its social networking sites and multimedia platforms to publish election-related news articles, commentaries, photos and videos through its website BlogWatch.ph. Netizens could contribute their content at BlogWatch.tv.
Founded in 2009, Blog Watch is a group of “independent-minded” bloggers whose aged ranged from 16 to over 60 years old. The group said its members were not affiliated with any political group or party.
