Caloocan cop killed on way to work

A police officer failed to make it to work after he was shot dead by still unidentified assailants on Thursday morning in Caloocan City.

SPO1 Rodrigo Antonio was walking on his way to a Caloocan City police substation along Pangako Street in Barangay (village) Bagong Barrio when a man on board a motorcycle with his cohort shot him pointblank.

Investigation Division of the city police said the attackers shot Antonio, who was assigned at Caloocan City Police Community Precinct 1, at around 9:10 a.m.

Scene of the crime operatives are still in the area to investigate.

Police said the motive behind the killing is still being determined by the authorities.
