Tropical storm Jenny (Dujuan) slightly intensified Thursday morning but kept its slow pace, the state weather bureau said.
Jenny packed maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 100 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The storm moved slowly at 7 kph west northwest and was last observed 1,280 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.
Although no storm signals were raised, Jenny will enhance the southwest monsoon prevailing in Visayas and Mindanao.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, CARAGA and the provinces of Cavite and Batangas, Pagasa said.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
