NPA bomb wounds Army officer, 4 soldiers in Bukidnon
Five Army soldiers, including an officer, were wounded after an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Bukidnon on Sunday.
Captain Alberto Caber, spokesperson of the Eastern Mindanao Command, said on Monday that they suspect members of the New People’s Army (NPA) as planting the IED.
The wounded soldiers from the 8th Infantry Battalion were Second Lieutenant Noel Manalang, Sergeant Ruel Lavalle, Private First Class Abdurasan Ibnomusa, Pfc. Ravi Pamalison and Pfc Marvin Dancel.
The explosion happened in Barangay (village) Pagan in Kitaokitao at 8:20 a.m.
