Poe runaway winner even in 10-way fight, Magdalo survey shows

SENATOR Grace Poe would be a runaway winner in a 4-way fight in 2016 based on the latest survey conducted by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s Magdalo Group.

The group was among the first groups that endorsed Poe’s presidential bid eve before she formally announced it Wednesday.

Based on the survey conducted by the group from September 8 to 10, 2015, Poe emerged as the consistent top choice for president in three scenarios — a 4-way, 6-way or 10-way-fight — next year.

The survey, conducted among 2,937 respondents nationwide, had a 1.8 percent margin of error.

In a 4-way-fight, Poe would win the presidential race with 37.7 percent, followed by Vice President Jejomar Binay with 24.3 percent, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas with 18.6 percent, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte with 17.8 percent.

Except for Duterte, all three —Poe, Binay and Roxas— have already formally declared their presidential bids.

In a 6-way-fight, Poe remained the voters’ top choice with 32.4 percent, again followed by Binay with 22.8 percent , Roxas with 17.5 percent, Duterte with 16.8 percent, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with 7.5 percent and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano with 2.3 percent.

Poe would also win even in a 10-way-fight with 29.9 percent, Binay with 21.4 percent, Roxas with 15.8 percent, Duterte with 15.5 percent, and Marcos with 6 percent.

Former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada was included on the list with 3.5 percent, 7th is Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero with 2.9 percent, 8th is Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago with 1.8 percent, Senators Panfilo Lacson and Cayetano with 1.6 percent, and 1.3 percent respectively.

But Poe already named Escudero as her running mate in 2016. Maila Ager
