No more roaming the streets at night for this balut vendor who bagged the P5.1-million jackpot prize in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) 6-Digit game.

The 65-year-old man was the sole player to guess the lucky combination of 1-0-1-6-9-9 in the Sept. 1 draw. The winner said he based the numbers on the birthdays of his grandchildren. To win the jackpot in the 6-Digit game, a bettor must guess the six winning numbers in the correct order.

According to PCSO vice chair and general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, it took two decades for the avid lotto player to finally win the jackpot prize. From selling balut for over a decade, the man said he now plans to open a variety store with his wife.

He added that part of the money would go to renovating the shanty where he and his four other siblings have lived ever since they were kids. The winner said he also intends to give some of the money to his son who works as a contractual laborer.–Jovic Yee
