Francis Pangilinan: Yes, I have resigned
Secretary Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, presidential assistant for food security and agricultural modernization, confirmed on Tuesday that he has resigned from his post effective September 30.
“Yes, I have submitted my letter of resignation last week,” Pangilinan said in a text message on Tuesday.
“The resignation is effective September 30 to allow for a smooth transition and for the President to choose a successor,” he said.
Pangilinan though refused to say whether his resignation was in preparation for a possible senatorial run in 2016.
“As to my future plans, an official announcement will be made in due time,” he said. Maila Ager
