Drunken sibling kills elder brother in fit of rage
LUCENA CITY — A mixture of rage and alcohol proved fatal to a family in the island town of Burdeos, Quezon.
Quoting a report from the Burdeos police, Senior Supt. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Quezon police chief, said brothers Ramil, Calvert, and Jun, all surnamed Peñamante, were having a drink in Calvert’s home in Barangay Poblacion around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
A heated argument ensued between Ramil, 40, and Jun that forced the elder Calvert, 46, to intervene and slap both his younger siblings to stop.
But the two continued their quarrel until Calvert grabbed a piece of wood and hit Ramil in the left ear, report said.
Furious, Ramil left but returned a few minutes later armed with a bolo and knife and hacked Calvert on his leg.
