Manhunt launched for 2 men caught robbing South Cotabato power firm

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines — The South Cotabato police have launched a manhunt against two men, whose facial identification were clearly captured by the CCTV, after they robbed the South Cotabato Electric Cooperative (Socoteco) collection office in Tupi, South Cotabato.

Senior Supt. Jose Briones, South Cotabato provincial police director, said the robbers barged into the sub-office of Socoteco at past 4 p.m. Saturday.

Once inside, they disarmed the lone lady security guard of her 9mm pistol and declared a robbery. They then took the day’s collection from the office safety vault, including personal valuables of employees such as mobile phones and wallets.

Citing reports from Tupi PNP, Briones said the suspects fled with P268,000 cash.  Police have used the CCTV footage in identifying the suspects.
