PRC releases electrical engineer licensure exam results

A TOTAL of 2,536 out of 3,772 registered electrical engineers and 1,886 out of 2,993 registered master electricians passed the recent electrical engineer licensure examinations, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Thursday.

Data by PRC showed that University of Santo Tomas emerged as top-performing school in the registered electrical engineer board exam after getting a 98.61-percent passing rate, or equivalent to 71 passers out of 72 examinees.

Joining UST on the list are De La Salle University-Lipa (92.86 percent), Technological University of the Philippines (TUP)-Manila (85.29 percent), University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao (84.04 percent), and Southern Luzon State University-Lucban (80.90 percent).

Bohol Island State University was the top-performing school in the registered master electrician licensure exam with a 92.16-percent passing rate, followed by Technological University of the Philippines-Manila (88.24 percent) and Southern Luzon State University-Lucban (80 percent).

The PRC requires 50 or more examinees with at least 80 percent passing rate for a school to be declared as top-performing.

Martha Isabel Dealino of the University of the Philippines-Diliman topped the registered electrical engineer licensure exam with a 90.95-percent passing rate, while Jomel Asilo of Bohol Island State University topped the exam for master electricians (93 percent).

The exams were administered by the Board of Electrical Engineering in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, and Zamboanga this September. Yuji Vincent Gonzales
