MANILA, Philippines – The daughter of slain broadcaster /environmentalist Dr. Gerry Ortega on Friday said her family expected a “tough battle” when her father’s murder finally goes to court.

Mika Ortega, in an interview on Radyo Inquirer 990AM, said her family was still “coping” with the loss of a father. “It’s been nine months …and the case has not been filed. Our lawyer says it’s a long process, and it can get tougher when we go finally to court.”

The Department of Justice on Thursday ordered a re-investigation into the murder of Ortega in Palawan last January 24.
