Thunderstorm, heavy rains hit parts of Metro Manila

Heavy downpour combined with lightning strikes hit parts of Metro Manila on Thursday afternoon.

“Thunderstorm is affecting Metro Manila (San Juan, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina), Rizal (Antipolo, Teresa, Tanay), portions of Bulacan which may persist within two hours,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in an advisory at 4:33 p.m.

The state weather bureau warned about heavy rains, strong winds, lightning, and possible flashfloods.

On Tuesday, from late afternoon to evening, a strong thunderstorm hit Metro Manila which left it to a standstill and left thousands of commuters stranded. JE
