Rains, isolated thunderstorms expected Thursday in PH

Light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are seen in Metro Manila and other parts of the country, the state weather bureau said Thursday morning.

The southwest monsoon (“Habagat”) is prevailing over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, CARAGA and Leyte Provinces.

In a thunderstorm advisory at 8:18 a.m., Pagasa said light to moderate rains are affecting Metro Manila (Las Pinas, Muntinlupa) which may persist for one hour and most likely to affect nearby areas.

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over Batangas, Rizal and other areas of Merto Manila and Batangas will be expected within the next two hours.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over the rest of the country.
