SUBIC FREEPORT, Philippines – Four dock workers were believed to have been killed when they fell off a ramp Friday at the Subic shipyard, Subic Mayor Jay Khonghun said.
The mayor said he was not allowed to enter the shipyard, which is under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, but officials would only confirm that an accident had taken place and that there were fatalities.
Other sources, however, claimed that up to 10 workers perished in the accident.
