Manila trader bags P91-M lotto prize

A businessman from Manila now has fresh capital which he can inject into his retail business after he won over P91 million in the Super Lotto 6/49 draw on Aug. 30.

The 54-year-old father of three was the sole player to pick the winning number combination of 07-10-14-31-40-45. He took home the P91,492,428 jackpot prize.

The winner told Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) vice chair and general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II that the number combination was given to him by his sister-in-law. He added that he has been an avid lotto player for the last 19 years before finally hitting the jackpot.

When he claimed his prize at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City on Friday, the winner said he would use the money to buy a house and lot and expand the grocery store managed by him and his wife. He added that he would put aside a portion of his winnings for his children’s education and future needs.

The winner, who only bought three tickets to clinch the game’s jackpot prize, also said that he would share a portion of money with his sister-in-law since she was instrumental in helping him become a multimillionaire.

The Super Lotto 6/49 has a minimum guaranteed prize of P16 million. Its jackpot prize rose to over P91 million after no one guessed the right number combination for the last 26 draws starting June 30.
