Strong thunderstorms rolled in parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Tuesday evening.

In Metro Manila, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued a thunderstorm advisory at 6:35 p.m.

Affected areas were Pasig, Marikina, Taguig, Mandaluyong, Pasay, San Juan, Manila, and portions of Quezon City.

Heavy rains, strong winds, and lightning prevailed for the next two hours in most of these areas.

Pagasa also warned of possible flash floods.

The provinces of Batangas (Nasugbu, Lipa), ‪Laguna (Biñan) and portions of ‪‎Bulacan, ‪Rizal, and ‪‎Nueva Ecija were also included in the advisory.

Pagasa said the rains may persist for two more hours.

Thunderstorms are also expected to hit ‪Quezon, ‪Cavite and other areas in Laguna, Metro Manila and Batangas in the next two hours. Frances Mangosing/RC
