LRT to give free rides to senior citizens Saturday–administrator

MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will be giving free rides to senior citizens on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 in all stations, LRTA Administrator Rafael S. Rodriguez, said.

Rodriguez was responding to the request of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for Metro Manila’s light railway to grant the free rides as part of Elderly Filipino Week.

“Our senior citizens can avail of the free ride in both Line 1 (Baclaran-Roosevelt) and Line 2 (Recto-Santolan) by presenting their identification card issued by their respective local government units (LGUs)|”, Rodriguez said.
