Andrea Rosal, daughter of the late New People’s Army (NPA) spokesperson Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal, has been cleared of murder charges filed against her in Mauban, Quezon.

Rosal’s camp on Monday said the Quezon court issued the release order Monday morning.

“National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers and Karapatan paralegals are now working for her immediate release as there is no more legal basis or impediment to hold her in custody,” her camp said in a statement.

In July last year, the Pasig Regional Trial Court also dismissed kidnapping and murder charges against Rosal filed in 2007 due to lack of evidence.

Rosal, who was arrested by authorities in March 2014 when she was eight-months pregnant, lost her baby while she was in detention. Her camp has blamed “government neglect” and “adverse jail conditions” for the baby’s death.

Rosal is set to be released from Camp Bagong Diwa this afternoon. Yuji Vincent Gonzales
