The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) took over traffic management of Edsa on Monday, flexing its muscles by deploying 150 men throughout the day.

At 5 a.m., Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ricardo Marquez headed the send off for HPG cops assigned to six areas in Edsa — Balintawak in Caloocan City, Cubao in Quezon City, Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City, Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City, Guadalupe in Makati City and Taft Avenue in Pasay City.

The PNP-HPG earlier said that it will field burly cops to the six chokepoints to “scare” hard-headed motorists. KS
