Retired DepEd regional exec, grandson abducted in Zamboanga Sibugay

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A retired Department of Education official and her grandson were abducted in Ipil town, Zamboanga Sibugay on Sunday noon.

Chief Supt. Miguel Antonio, police chief for Western Mindanao, said two men armed with M16 rifles barged into the house of Isabelle Agpawa Muyargas and took her and her 5-year old grandson Kyle.


The men then forced the victims to board a motorized pumpboat that was manned by three men.

Antonio said Muyargas is a retired DepEd Division Superintendent.


He said pursuit operation ongoing to secure the victims.
