Valenzuela man held for slashing ex-partner’s neck

The Valenzuela police have arrested a man who allegedly killed his estranged live-in partner by slashing her neck for refusing to reconcile with him.

The victim identified as Mary Ann Calisaan, 38, was found dead around noon Thursday inside her mother’s house on Dulong Tangke Street, Barangay Malinta.

Three hours later, the police arrested her partner Melton dela Cruz, a tricycle driver, after he notified his relatives that he was willing to surrender at a church in neighboring Barangay Polo.

According to SPO3 Armando Delima, Calisaan and Dela Cruz separated in August after living together for three months.

Calisaan moved back to her mother’s house and refused to reconcile with the suspect because they had often quarreled.

Police said Dela Cruz had admitted using illegal drugs.
