Damage to infra, agri due to ‘Ineng’ now over P4 billion

Damage to property caused by Typhoon Ineng (Goni) has reached over P4 billion two weeks after it battered Luzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday.

Loss to infrastructure and agriculture incurred a total of P4,100,039,108.75.

Destroyed infrastructure is worth P2,333,559,843.97 while damage to agricultural crops is at P1,736,772,733.28. NDRRMC also noted other damage worth P29,706,531.50.

Most of the areas affected were Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon and Cordillera regions.

Death toll also increased to 32, NDRRMC said.

There are 2,966 families or 11,915 persons still sheltered in evacuation centers.

State of calamity was declared in Ilocos Norte; Benguet; Sta. Praxedes in Cagayan; Balbalan in Kalinga; Apayao; Mt. Province and Abra. JE
