The Philippine Air Force (PAF) is ready to carry out cloud seeding-operations in the event of a stronger El Niño, which is expected in the coming months.
PAF spokesman Col. Enrico Canaya on Thursday said the cloud-seeding efforts would be conducted in cooperation with the Bureau of Soils and Water Management.
“We have that capability in cooperation with other agencies,” said Canaya.
However, the government must first conduct an air assessment and study of the local weather in specific areas before a cloud-seeding operation is carried out.
