DepEd exec’s wife killed

John Adrian Edquilang: In police custody

The wife and househelp of a Department of Education official were found dead inside their house in Sta. Ana, Manila, on Thursday.

A witness immediately identified the killer of Lucita Menguito, 53, wife of Department of Education-National Capital Region assistant director Ponciano Menguito; and Jennifer Magtulis, 18, as John Adrian Edquilang.

Edquilang, a 37-year-old businessman and pilot, was the Menguitos’ son-in-law. He was immediately arrested by Manila policemen.

The victims’ bodies were discovered around noon Thursday  after a neighbor grew suspicious when the gate was left open.

According to the initial police investigation, Lucita Menguito was hit in the back of the head with a hard object, while Magtulis was struck in the face.
