BBL passage tops Congress priority list

Leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives on Thursday met to agree on the list of pending bills to be prioritized before the Congress end its session on October 8.

Led by Senate President Franklin Drilon and House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte the lawmakers agreed to give priority to the the following measures:

2016 Budget

Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL)

SK Reform Law, which was already approved by both houses

Creation of DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology)

TIMTA (Tax Incentives Management and Transparency Act), which is in the Bicam

Amendments to the Built-Operate-Transfer Law

Amendments to the CTMA (Customs and Tariff Modernization Act)

A review and amendments to the Revised Penal Code insofar as the monetary values are concerned.
