In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, students and teachers of St. Theresa’s College (STC) presented their own “Pink Glove Dance” to help spread the word about breast cancer last Sept. 28.
The Pink Glove Dance was organized by Rotaract-STC chapter, in collaboration with the Put Prints project of junior and senior STC Mass Communication students, and in coordination with STC renewal office, STC college student council, core group and STC college department.
“We want STC to be part of the event. This is our way of letting people know breast cancer. Maybe this will build curiosity in the minds of the people,” said Tara Tricia Merced, STC Rotaract president.
“As a woman, it is important to be part of the event because we are the ones to be affected by the disease,” she said.
Students and teachers gathered in the quadrangle and formed themselves into a human pink ribon as they danced to the tune of “Down” by Jay Sean.
The dance was choreographed by Tara Rose Donayre, an STC Mass Communication student.
“It felt rewarding. As women, we were able to support the cause,” said Christan Caryll Arcayan.
“It was the first time that STC supported this advocacy,” said Merced. “It was fulfilling to be part of the event,” she added. STC Masscom student Krizia Vasaylaje
