PARTS of Metro Manila will experience rotational water interruption next week that may last up to 12 hours a day, the Manila Water Co. Inc. said on Wednesday.
In an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Dittie Galang of Manila Water’s communications department said the scheduled disruption would address the low allocation of water for residential use of Metro Manila customers caused by the low water level in Angat Dam.
Galang said the water interruption will particularly affect Taguig City, Marikina City, Pasig City, Quezon City, and Rodriguez and Antipolo in Rizal.
She added that those areas would be the same places to be affected when Manila Water starts supply and pressure management.
Meanwhile, Manila Water Treatment and Water Network head engineer Enrique Egiua said the interruption will continue if Angat Dam, as well as Ipo Dam, will not gather sufficient amount of water from rainfall.
Yuji Gonzales
