Solon tied to P500M pork scam denies PDAF misuse

A party-list representative on Wednesday denied the allegations that she funneled her Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to questionable non-government organizations (NGOs).

In a statement, Yacap party-list Representative Carol Lopez asserted her innocence after her name was implicated in the latest list of lawmakers whose PDAF were allegedly misused.

“I am extremely confident that this will not result to fruition. I maintain my position of innocence and that can be clearly proven should it come to court,” Lopez said in a statement.

In an Inquirer report, Lopez was among the lawmakers allegedly tied to the new P500-million pork barrel scam.

Lopez allegedly allocated P29 million with special allocation release order (Saro) numbers ROCS-08-07146 and ROCS-08-05631 to Kagandahan ng Kapaligiran Foundation, allegedly owned by a Marilou Antonio.

Lopez said the complaint against her would “not result to fruition.”

“I have nothing to fear. This could even be an opportunity to put a case closed stamp on my case,” she said, adding that it was her first time she encountered such names mentioned in the complaint. Nestor Corrales, INQUIRER.net
