Teenager kills ex-girl’s BF
A 16-year-old boy died Tuesday morning in Marikina City after he was shot in the head by another teenager in a jealous fit.
Chief Insp. Eduardo Cayetano, head of the Marikina police’s investigation and detection management section, referred to the case as a crime of passion, saying the victim, Danilo de Luna Jr., was dating the 15-year-old suspect’s former girlfriend.
According to Cayetano, De Luna was playing cards with his 15-year-old girlfriend and several other friends on Mais Street in Barangay Tumana at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect identified only as “Omay” came and confronted him.
Cayetano said Omay left but returned a few minutes later with a gun. He then shot the victim in the head at close range before fleeing.
De Luna was taken by his friends to Saint Vincent Hospital where he was declared brain dead. He later passed away.
Cayetano said that Omay’s family refused to talk when asked of his whereabouts and where he got the firearm. A search has been launched for the suspect who faces a murder charge.
