Construction worker wounded in Pasay shooting

PASAY CITY, Philippines — A construction worker was wounded after he was shot by motorcycle riding men while he was outside a store, three blocks away from his residence early Tuesday morning.

Romanito Albano, 43, who sustained a gunshot wound on his left leg, was rushed to the Pasay City General Hospital where he is currently recovering after he was shot around 2:30 a.m. at Don Carlos Village Brgy. 190 Zone 20.

Case investigator SPO2 Genomar Geraldino said witnesses claimed that the victim was buying cigarette at the said store when the suspects aboard a motorcycle appeared in front of him and shot him twice.

Witnesses said the two suspects were both wearing white helmets and black jackets and immediately fled the crime scene after the shooting.

Albano’s nephew rushed him to the nearest medical institution after he slumped bloodied to the ground.

Geraldino said they still have no known motive for the shooting since the victim and his family claimed that he has no known enemies in their area or in the construction company where he worked.

Investigators said they are also looking at closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footages in establishments near the area to possibly identify the suspects. Maricar B. Brizuela
