CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Philippines — Police on Tuesday recovered the body of a woman who went missing while crossing the Pangasahan River in San Jose, Tarlac on Sunday, police said.

Senior Insp. Sonny Silva, San Jose police chief, said Jasmin Solis, 27, was found dead downstream of a dam in the town on Tuesday morning.

Solis was part of a group of mountaineers and volunteers who was swept away by strong river current on Sunday. Police said the group held an outreach program in Sitio Baag, an Aeta community in Barangay San Pedro.
