The Department of Justice (DOJ) has not yet acted on the complaint filed against members of Sanggunian, Iglesia ni Cristo’s (INC) highest administrative council.
Prosecutor General Claro Arellano said they had yet to assign a prosecutor to handle the case almost a week after former INC minister Isaias Samson Jr., his wife and son filed a complaint against members of the Sanggunian.
Samson and his family named Glicerio Santos Jr., Radel Cortez, Bienvenido Santiago Sr., Mathusalem Pareja, Rolando Esguerra, Eraño Codera, Rodelio Cabrerra and Maximo Bularan in their complaint for harassment, illegal detention, threats and coercion.

Last Friday, another complaint for harassment was filed by former member Lito Fruto against members of the Sanggunian.
On Thursday, the INC launched protest actions against Justice Secretary Leila de Lima for purportedly meddling in their internal affairs for receiving the complaints.
The Iglesia lifted the demonstrations Monday, saying their leaders have held talks with government officials about the matter.
It was unclear if anything was agreed upon during the talks.
