KIDAPAWAN CITY – At least seven people were killed when the passenger van they were riding collided with a 10-wheel truck loaded with palay in Tacurong City on Sunday afternoon.
Supt. Junny Buenacosa, Tacurong City police chief, said the incident happened along the national highway at around 4 p.m. Sunday.
Several other passengers were rushed to nearby hospital, Buenacosa said.
“Those rushed in hospital are in critical condition,” Buenacosa told Radyo Bida based in Kidapawan.
Buenacosa said one of the fatalities was the driver of the passenger van.
The driver of the truck is now in the custody of Tacurong City police.
Police are still investigating the incident.
