LPA hovers east of Luzon; isolated thunderstorms seen—Pagasa
The weather bureau is tracking a low pressure area located some 215 kilometers northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, as it forecast cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms Sunday in most parts of the country.
In its forecast issued at 4 a.m, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Central Luzon and Rizal.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country,” Pagasa said.
In its 7:00 a.m. forecast posted on its social media pages, Pagasa also said thunderstorms will particularly affect Aurora, Ilocos region, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley.
“Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over Aurora province. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos region, Cordillera and Cagayan valley,” Pagasa said.

Article continues after this advertisementIt added that isolated thunderstorms will also be experienced over the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque.
“Light to moderate winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Bicol, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque while South to Southwest over Northern Samar with slight to moderate seas,” it added.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the south to southwest and the coastal waters will be slight to moderate in Mindanao, the weather bureau added.
In its 7:30 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said light to moderate rains are also affecting Dinapgie, Isabela and Dilasag, Aurora, which may persist up to two hours.
