A total of 2,491 out of 2,921 passed the recent physician licensure examinations, the Professional Regulation Commission announced on Wednesday.
Data from PRC showed that Cebu Institute of Medicine and University of the Philippines-Manila emerged as top-performing schools after recording a 100-percent passing rate.
Other schools that made it to the list of top-performing schools were Ateneo de Manila University School of Medicine and Public Health (99.13%), West Visayas State University in La Paz (98.80%), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (98.67%), University of Santo Tomas (98.31%), Saint Luke’s College of Medicine (98.18%), University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (97.78%), Xavier University (96.72%), Saint Louis University (95.16%), and Cebu Doctors University-College of Medicine (94.03%).
The PRC requires 50 or more examinees with at least 80 passing rate for a school to be declared as top-performing.
Andrew Tiu of the Cebu Institute of Medicine topped the exam with a 90.67-percent passing rate.
The exam was administered by the Board of Medicine in Manila, Cebu, and Davao this August. Yuji Gonzales
