‘Ineng’ heading out of PH; typhoon signals lowered
Typhoon “Ineng” (international name: Goni) may be out of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Sunday night or Monday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said late Sunday morning.
Pagasa, in its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, said Ineng maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 170 kph as it headed north towards southern Japan.
As of the bulletin’s posting, the state weather bureau located Ineng’s “eye” at 360 km northeast of Basco, Batanes. It was moving 17 kph at north northeast direction.
Only Batanes remained under public storm warning which has been lowered to signal number 1 in the province.
Meanwhile, Pagasa warned of an enhanced “Habagat” which will dump monsoon rains in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Ilocos region, CAR and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan and the islands of Calayan and Babuyan.
