More agri students sought

BANSALAN, Davao del Sur—A multinational agriculture firm has started a massive campaign to entice more high school students into taking up agriculture-related courses when they go to college.

The demand for food continues to increase but enrollment in agriculture courses is not growing, said Jorgen Abellera, an official of Monsanto.

Abellera said by 2030, the world population is expected to hit 8.4 billion, leading to an increased demand in food.
