Trillanes tells Roxas: Magdalo to back Grace Poe in 2016 polls
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said on Thursday that he and Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas met by chance Wednesday night and spoke about their plans for 2016, which would take them down different paths.
“We wished each other well,” Trillanes told reporters in an ambush interview.
He said he told Roxas about the decision of his Magdalo group to support Sen. Grace Poe in the 2016 elections should she run for President. Their discussion was a good one, he said.
“I never had anything against Secretary Mar. As I said, I believe he’s a good person. But our paths would diverge this 2016,” he said.
He also said he told Roxas about the process followed by Magdalo in choosing who to back. It has more than 600 chapter leaders, and majority of them chose Poe.
“That was what came out. We don’t impose,” he said.
