Did You Know: Miguel Lopez de Legazpi
Today, Aug. 20, is the 443rd death anniversary of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, the first governor-general of the Philippines. In 1571, a year before his death, he established the City of Manila. His remains were interred at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
