Pawnshop owner foiled robbery attempt
ORMOC CITY, Philippines — The owner of a pawnshop here foiled an attempt by four men to rob his establishment on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the robbers barged into the Anjes Pawnshop and Jewelry about 1 p.m.
One of the robbers held the lone security guard by the neck while three others pointed their firearms at the employees inside.
They, however, didn’t know that the owner was inside the store and was armed.
The owner fired three warning shots, prompting the robbers to fire back before scampering out of the pawnshop.
Two of the robbers boarded on one of the motorcycles parked outside. The two others fled on foot and left their motorcycle behind. (Jhay Gaspar, Inquirer Visayas)
