Low pressure area to bring rain in parts of Philippines — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience rains due to the low pressure area embedded along the intertropical convergence zone, the state-run weather bureau said Thursday.

In its forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that that the low pressure area was seen 460 kilometers east of Visayas.

Eastern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, becoming cloudy with widespread rains over eastern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, Pagasa said.

The rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, a wind convergence will also affect eastern Luzon and bring scattered to widespread rains particularly over Isabela, Aurora, Quezon province and the Bicol region.
