Barangay official links Akrho to failed ambush
The barangay councilor who survived an ambush at New Imus Road, corner P. Del Rosario Extension, Cebu City, at 8 p.m last Tuesday said he believes the attack was related to the 2007 murder of his son, whose death anniversary his family commemorated that same day.
“I have no doubt that this is related to the death of my son. Maybe those responsible want to silence me,” said San Roque barangay councilor Bobby Morados in a radio dyLA interview.
He said he had no political or business rivals who would want to kill him.
He pointed to the Alpha Kappa Rho (Akrho) fraternity as the party behind the attack.
Akrho hitman Aristotle Aves, who is detained at the Cebu City Jail, is on trial for the 2007 drive-by shooting that resulted in the deaths of engineer Lawrence Morados and his companions Lord Stephen Vasquez and William John Aznar.
The shooting, which occurred at V. Gullas, Sanciangko Street and Ascencion Street in barangay Sambag I, also injured Mhako Buenconsejo, Jeffrey Romano, Rendon Pelleren and Rey Gonzales.
