MAJOR General Glorioso Miranda has been designated as new commander of the Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom).
He replaced Lieutenant General Felicito Virgilio Trinidad who retired from service on Thursday as he reached the mandatory retirement age of 56.
Miranda is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Matikas” Class of 1983 and was previously the commander of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division based in Nueva Ecija,
As Nolcom chief, he will take charge of two Army Infantry divisions in Isabela and Nueva Ecija, a naval base in La Union and an air base in Clark.
Miranda is also a Scout Ranger, a paratrooper, an infantry and intelligence officer. He has a Master’s Degree in National Security and Business Administration.
He also led the Army’s 25th Infantry Battalion, 1002nd Brigade. He was also a Dean of Academics of the AFP Command and General Staff College and later on the General Headquarters and Headquarters Service Command at Camp Aguinaldo.
He is also recipient of several awards such as the Distinguished Conduct Star, four Distinguished Service Stars and four Gold Cross Medals.
